Xavier Escala (Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues, 1975) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Santa Isabel de Hungría (Spain), where he completed his degree in sculpture. He continued his education at the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts in Italy and developed the marble sculpture techniques at professional sculpture studios in Carrara. He learnt direct wood carving from the sculptor Aron Demetz in Val Gardena (Italy). In 2014 he began an artistic journey arround the world and in 2017 he married the artist Nina Murashkina.
